The Members shall be divided into the following categories:
All the Business Firm(s) owned by Bangladesh Nationals and their offspring, registered in Hong Kong, having valid BR Certificate for at least six months and bankers and members of professionals of Bangladesh Nationals will be eligible for General Membership of the Chamber. General Members shall have right to vote and shall have right to be elected as Executive Member of the Chamber.
Only non-Bangladeshi business organizations (sole proprietary concerns, partnerships, limited liability companies), shall be eligible to be elected as Associate Members of the Chamber. An Associate Member shall not be elected a member of the Committee and shall not hold office and while attending a General Meeting shall have no right to participate in any discussions or to propose or second any motion or to vote on any motion. Except for the limitations stipulated in this Article, an Associate Member shall enjoy the same rights and privileges as a General Member.
Executive Committee will select Honorary members from local/overseas leading companies or reputed international business figures/professionals/academics for their remarkable contribution in the business/academic/professional sectors or for their generous financial support to Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Honorary members shall not have right to vote or shall not be elected as Executive Committee Member of the Chamber. They shall enjoy the facilities and services provided by the Chamber.
Any Member of each category can be a life Member by paying certain amount of donation and or fees as depicted in the Bye Laws.
Individual Membership shall be open to Bangladeshi individuals who are legal residents of Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China who are not necessarily engaged in any trading activity. They shall not have the right to vote and, if they avail themselves of the Origin Certification service of the Chamber, they shall be charged fees at rates applicable to non-members. An Individual Member shall not be elected a member of the Committee and shall not hold office and while attending a General Meeting shall have no right to participate in any discussions or to propose or second any motion or to vote on any motion.
Overseas Membership shall be open to all business organizations (sole proprietary concerns, partnerships, limited liability companies), who are located outside Hong Kong and are interested in trade and economic links with Bangladesh, Hong Kong and Mainland China. An Overseas Member shall not be elected a member of the Committee and shall not hold office and while attending a General Meeting shall have no right to participate in any discussions or to propose or second any motion or vote on any motion.
The rights and privileges of Overseas Members shall be as determined by a resolution or resolutions passed by Members in general meeting from time to time.
